Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), HHS

We have extensive experience with SAMHSA, dating back to 1994 and extending across SAMHSA Centers and Offices.
  • Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ) Since 1995, we have collected, processed, analyzed, and reported on behavioral health data. We compile national directories of treatment programs and make that information available through an online Treatment Locator. We also manage State Data Agreements.
  • Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) We provided analytical support for a national reporting program for more than 10 years.
  • Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) We monitored and implemented subcontracts awarded to states, jurisdictions, and tribes; provided training and technical assistance on epidemiological data; and developed a private Web portal for information sharing and on-the-fly graphics that supported over 80 indicators from each state. This work was key to developing an online national substance abuse monitoring system for CSAP.
  • Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) We have been supporting the implementation of office-based treatment of opioid addiction using buprenorphine since 2003. Our support includes database management, data processing, help desk services, Web site development and maintenance, and training and communications with the addiction treatment field about new models of service delivery.
  • Office of the Administrator (OA) We supported work developing the national outcome measures, developed a public Web site with on-the-fly Web graphics and maps, developed and wrote reports for each of SAMHSA's priority areas, and created data reports disseminated to all SAMHSA Centers. We also published an annual report showing national data for key stakeholders at SAMHSA.
  • Office of Financial Resources (OFR) We developed pivot table reports showing various groupings of financial information to enhance presentation, efficiency, transparency, and accountability of SAMHSA programs. Also provided training on development and maintenance of these reports and other ways to summarize and present data to key stakeholders.
